We are excited to have you join us as we celebrate six decades of TSRA, hear river stories, reconnect with old friends, and welcome new members of the river family. Here are your details:
TSRA 60th Anniversary Celebration
Saturday, October 10
Shelby Park Riverview Pavilion (next to the Cumberland River)
3:00 PM — Anniversary Memorial Paddle
Join us for an optional Cumberland River/Mill Creek paddle in memory of former TSRA member Mike Tossing. No shuttle is required. Please bring your boat, paddle, PFD, and any other gear you need for the paddle. Meet at the Shelby Park Boat Ramp at 3:00 PM.
4:30–5:00 PM — Cookout & Festivities Begin
After the paddle, gather at the Riverview Shelter for food, fun and celebration. Including, but not limited to:
- Shrimp Boil: Our very own Chef Todd Kinnett will be preparing a special shrimp boil.
- Games & Activities: We’ll have corn hole and bocce ball on the lawn.
- Photos & Memories: We’re planning a photo backdrop for friends and family photos, along with a special group photo of past TSRA presidents and board members. If you want to share some photos, drop them here in our google photo drive.
- 60th Anniversary Shirts & TSRA Swag: Special 60th anniversary shirts will be available for purchase, along with some other TSRA swag from past events
What to Bring: If you feel the need to bring something to share: appetizers, desserts, snacks, are welcome, but not mandatory. There are plenty of picnic tables, but if you want a higher back chair, feel free to bring one. Soft drinks, tea and lemonade are provided.
Getting There: The Riverview Pavillion at Shelby Park is labeled on Google Maps. You can enter Shelby Park from either the S. 20th Street or Sevier Street entrance. Once inside the park, follow the paved park roads toward the Cumberland River and Riverview Shelter.
The Riverview Shelter is located directly next to the Cumberland River Boat Ramp. Parking is available near the playground and ball fields, with a short walk across the street to the shelter.
Whether you’ve been part of TSRA for decades or just found your way to the river this year, we’d love to have you there.
We look forward to seeing you soon!
